Saritas Places Major Equipment Order For Its Integrated Stainless Steel Investment In Türkiye
Strategic milestone reached in Türkiye’s efforts to reduce stainless steel import dependency
Istanbul – Saritas Stainless Steel, one of Türkiye’s most established stainless steel producers, has placed major equipment order for its integrated stainless steel investment located in the Yalova Machinery Specialized Organized Industrial Zone.
The order includes rolling mills, cold annealing and pickling processing line, skin pass mills, and auxiliary equipments, to be supplied by Andritz AG, a global technology leader in metals and industrial process solutions headquartered in Austria.
Advanced Technology Backbone for Cold Rolling Operations
The ordered equipment will form the technological backbone of Saritas’ cold rolling operations in the first phase of the Yalova investment. Designed to deliver high surface quality, process stability, and energy efficiency, the integrated technology package will support the production of high value-added stainless steel products for key industries including home appliances, automotive, energy, machinery, and chemicals.
Supporting Import Substitution and Market Competitiveness
Planned with an annual capacity of 800,000 tonnes, the integrated Yalova facility aims to significantly reduce Türkiye’s reliance on imported cold-rolled stainless steel products while strengthening the country’s competitive position in regional and international markets. The newly ordered processing and finishing lines will enable production in line with international quality standards, ensuring consistency, efficiency, and scalability.
The integrated investment is planned in three phases and represents one of Türkiye’s most significant industrial transformation projects. Beyond the first-phase cold rolling operations, the roadmap includes hot rolling and melt shop investments that will ultimately establish a fully integrated “melt-to-finish” stainless steel production ecosystem by 2030.
Strong Global Technology Partnership
The collaboration with Andritz represents a strategic step in Saritas’ long-term growth and industrial investment roadmap. The project is being developed in line with sustainability principles, with a strong focus on environmental performance, resource efficiency, and digital process control.
With the phased commissioning of the Yalova integrated plant, Saritas aims to further position itself as a regional manufacturing and supply hub for stainless steel, supporting Türkiye’s industrial transformation and export-driven growth objectives.
