SARITAS has been in the Turkish iron and steel industry for 54 years. Company’s main operation field is stainless steel flat and long products. The company was founded by Hüseyin Saritas in 1957, who started business with metal scrap trade and continued with carbon and galvanized steel trade. In 1967 he entered to the stainless steel scrap business and by 1970’s his company was trading stainless steels coils and sheets as well round bars and pipes. As the consumption and importance of stainless steel increased by 1980’s the company put the emphasis on the stainless steel products only. In 1998 Saritas has established the first modern Stainless steel service center (SSC) in Dudullu Industrial Zone on 20.000 sqm area, 2008 was the introduction year of the 2-phase investment program “to grow faster than the market” underlining the company strategy. The first phase of the program, Gebze-1 SSC has started operation in 2010 with state-of-art machinery, as Plate and Long Products SSC as well as flat bar production facility on 46.000 sqm area. The second phase of the program Gebze-2 SSC will be finished by 2012.

Founder

SARITAS is the leading Stainless steel service center (SSC) and stockiest in Turkey, founded in 1957 and wholly family-owned. Dominating in the domestic market with a wide range of stainless flat products but also expending to stainless long products respectively. Special emphasis is also paid to the surrounding export markets. With a given capacity of 100,000 tpy SARITAS process activities range from cutting to slitting, from grinding/brushing to coating but also includes plasma as well as laser cutting. Keeping the full range of thickness and widths in HRC and CRC of all standard austenitic and ferritic grades, SARITAS also provides the markets with special grades and special finishes for any kind of customers' specific needs. Traditionally SARITAS is sourcing from European mills but we extended within the last few years our purchases heavily also to leading Asian stainless steel mills to ensure the international competitiveness in the interest of our over 5.000 customers. SARITAS was audited and certified in 2003 by TÜV for ISO 9001:2000 and in 2006 for ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001. It is quite noteworthy that SARITAS also possess as one of very few companies the "Triple Integrated Management System". Human resources at SARITAS always enjoy top priority and executives' consideration to ensure highest level of professional skills. To underline our strategy "to grow faster than the market" SARITAS is undertaking a substantial and encouraging Investment Program of over 230 million US$. This promising 2-steps-project in the most advanced and prestigious industrial zone of Gebze will strengthen and extend SARITAS leading market position. After completion in 2012 at 2 sites with more than 160,000 sq meters of new land and total new covered area of 80,000 sq meters SARITAS will reach a processing capacity of more than 200,000 tpy with a labor force of about 400 employees.
